Office hours

If you have an arts admin task you’ve been putting off, a big project idea with no clue where to start, need help with a funding application, or just want to work alongside other creatives to break up your week, sign up to come along to YAH’s OFFICE HOURS!

This block of OFFICE HOURS will take place Wednesdays, 9am-11am, 13 Nov -11 Dec, and it’s open to anyone with a creative practice.

We will be stationed at the new Q Gallery, Ainslie Shops. There is a big wooden table in the middle of the space which will serve as our shared desk, some art on the walls, and nice big windows that let in lots of natural light.

If you require detailed accessibility information about the space, or want to discuss your access requirements, please email: producers@youareherecanberra.com.au

Each session you will be able to spend time in a co-working environment, ask the YAH team questions, and chat to others in the space. We will keep numbers small so that the Office is not too crowded or noisy, and we have enough time to chat with everyone.

We’re doing this because we want to connect with artists and producers, share our expertise, be helpful and support the creative community. We know many people struggle doing the more “administrative” side of their arts practice alone (us included, sometimes). OFFICE HOURS creates an environment where we can do our solo work, together.

This is a trial of Office Hours, and we will be reflecting on our collective experience once we wrap up in December, then making any adjustments we need to for next year. We’d like to bring Office Hours to various town centres around the ACT throughout 2025, if we feel it’s working for the people attending.

Yes, registration is required. You can sign up using the form provided. You can book multiple sessions or just one. Since space is limited to four people per session, please only register if you are certain you can attend.

Office Hours is free to participate in. If you’re able, you’re welcome to make a small donation to help cover the cost of the space, but it’s not mandatory.

You should bring something specific you want to work on or get help with. If you’re unsure, just show up, and we can assist you in organizing yourself or your to-do list.

No, the office doesn’t provide equipment or materials. Please bring your own devices, notebooks, pens, and anything else you might need.

This is a group session, so we won’t be able to give you our undivided attention the entire time. We encourage participants to listen in on discussions with others. If you have private or very in-depth questions, it’s best to email us and book an individual producer session.

Yes, feel free to bring and use headphones if you’d like to block out any noise in the space.

Yes, we’ll play music at a low volume throughout the office.

You can bring a drink or grab a coffee nearby. There’s also a kitchenette where you can make a cup of tea or coffee. However, no eating or chewing gum is allowed in the office itself. You’re welcome to take snack breaks outside.

If you need to make a phone call, please step outside to do so.
