You Are Here is celebrating our 15th birthday with a Gala(h)!
Join us at Canberra’s hottest new live music venue, Dissent, as we re-introduce YAH in our post-festival era, kick off Cahoots Lab 2025, and raise funds for our next big project: the Cahoots Manual*.
Dressing up is encouraged, theme is: BIRDS! …and we expect some lavish DIY ‘fits on the pink carpet!
Over a fabulous signature Gala(h) cocktail/mocktail and a moreish morsel from the Cahoots Canteen, connect with Canberra’s beautiful arts community. Melt into live projections and performances then devolve into the Weird Noise After Party – all created by YAH staff and artist alumni. And no fundraiser is complete without: Raffle! Art Auction! Lucky dip!
PLUS: a daytime Art Market running at Blank on Moore Street from 10am-2pm the same day, featuring a stunning array of art works from local artists, available to purchase in a relaxed environment.
We can’t wait to share a beautiful day and night with our community, celebrating where we’ve been and where we’re going, and of course championing the incredible artists that Canberra, Ngunnawal country is home to!

*The Cahoots Manual is an incredible new resource that will make the Cahoots practice development, creative community building, and critical feedback frameworks available to all artists and producers, anywhere, any time.

We know Canberran’s love art and we know they love a market!
This Art Market is our first foray into exploring alternative models for visual artists to sell their work in a way that creates easier access for potential buyers.
This is a chill place to start or add to your art collection. The market is free to attend! You can browse through heaps of different artist’s work! The prices are visible! The point of sale is easy! You can take it home with you today! You can talk to the artists while you’re browsing!
As much as we love a handmade market with tea towels and soaps and candles – this one is a little different. We are selling: ART! Invest in incredible, locally made work and put it straight in your home or office.

The theme is “birds” and the night will begin on the pink carpet… there is no end of inspiration on Ngunnawal country and we KNOW y’all love to dress up so we can’t wait to see who turns up and what they’re wearing. Keep your eyes peeled for the various Canberra Icons gracing the pink carpet with their fabulous DIY outfits, and be sure to get frocked up yourself!
Canberra’s number one host, Zev “The Host” Aviv, will guide guests through the evening with their formidable blend of sass and sweetness, keeping everyone on track to good times.
Zora Pang and Zhi will be the head chefs in the Cahoots Canteen – dishing up an array of delicious food art.
Projections by Cahoots alumni Julie Monro-Allison will light up the venue. Junior Producer Janhavi Salvi’s provocative text art will line the walls.
Mister Butch Venividivici (aka YAH’s Creative Director, Ketura Budd) will be serving up dessert for the people and getting the party started.
Long time YAH affionados Sia Ahmad & Reuben Lewis are cooking up a little musical duet.
Our longest serving staff member, Nick Delatovic, continues their dedication to YAH, bringing the glamour of an album launch from Canberra’s favourite electroclash for the post-empire-age band, Babyfreeze.
Then… the sounds of the Weird Noise After Party will take us into the night.
